Working with an Ally makes life simpler, but it does require some adjustments to our standard workflow. In an effort to make that adjustment as easy as possible, we thought we would share a few tips and tricks to help you get the most out of your membership.
- When a solution is completed to your satisfaction and closed out by your ally, there is no need to respond with 'thank you'. As nice a gesture as this is, it creates an extra step for both you and your Ally, who then has to close out your request a second time. Your ally knows you're grateful. If you really feel you want to share that in words, we suggest sending a separate email.
- Let us know if you want to spend a specific number of Minutes on a request. You're always welcome to say something like "please work on this up to 10 Minutes, and then check in with me." Allies appreciate this kind of clarity, and it gives you peace of mind. In absence of a stated Minute cap for the request, we will refer to your accounts standard Minute cap while always working on requests as efficiently as possible. Our default Minute cap for new members is 30 Minutes.
- Separate request emails aren't necessary, but keep your Ally organized. If you're in a pinch and need to send multiple requests in one email, that is fine. Your Ally is happy to sort it out. But if you're looking to keep your Ally working as efficiently as possible on your behalf, separate emails help significantly.
- When making a request, be specific and share as much as possible. The main benefit of doing this is it reduces the back and forth for your Ally to clarify questions and gather additional information.
